1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Sanctuary House website, making a reservation, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using our services.
2. Reservations and Bookings
Booking Process
- All reservations are subject to availability
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of required deposit
- You must be at least 18 years old to make a reservation
- Valid identification may be required upon check-in
Payment Terms
- A deposit may be required to secure your reservation
- Full payment is due upon check-in unless otherwise arranged
- We accept major credit cards and other specified payment methods
- All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include applicable taxes
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Standard Cancellations
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more before check-in: Full refund
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours before check-in: 50% refund
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before check-in: No refund
Special Events and Peak Periods
Different cancellation policies may apply during peak periods, special events, or for group bookings. These will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.
4. Guest Responsibilities
As a guest, you agree to:
- Treat the property and facilities with respect
- Comply with all house rules and policies
- Not disturb other guests or neighbors
- Report any damages or issues promptly
- Follow all safety guidelines and instructions
- Not engage in illegal activities on the premises
5. Property Rules
Check-in and Check-out
- Standard check-in time: 3:00 PM
- Standard check-out time: 11:00 AM
- Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request
- Additional fees may apply for extended stays
Occupancy and Guests
- Maximum occupancy limits must be respected
- Additional guests may incur extra charges
- Visitors must be registered and may be subject to restrictions
- Children must be supervised at all times
6. Liability and Insurance
Sanctuary House maintains appropriate insurance coverage for the property. However, guests are responsible for:
- Their personal belongings and valuables
- Any damage caused by their actions or negligence
- Obtaining appropriate travel and personal insurance
- Medical expenses and personal injury claims
We recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before their stay.
7. Force Majeure
Sanctuary House shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, extreme weather conditions
- Government regulations or travel restrictions
- Public health emergencies
- Utility failures or infrastructure issues
In such cases, we will work with guests to find reasonable alternative arrangements or provide appropriate refunds where possible.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our express written permission.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms or your stay will be governed by Australian law and subject to the jurisdiction of Victorian courts. We encourage guests to contact us directly to resolve any issues before pursuing formal legal action.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
